About Us
Our team is partly comprised of our 8 family members and includes;
David 48, 
48 years old and usually employed as an emergency medicine physician and beginning farmer. Born in London England, he walks around with an unusual accent that makes him sound smarter than he really is. Totally dedicated now to the world of BBQ he is even developing the paunch of a dedicated devotee of "Q". His most interesting moment in BBQ came when he started his left leg on fire after creating a charcoal dust explosion while cleaning out a charcoal bridge in his then new Stumps GF223. Caitlin then aged 5 calmly told him through the picture window to "Stop, Drop, and Roll". He found a snowbank instead. The scar is now a proud badge of honor that will be revealed to anybody willing to listen to this story again.
Food has always been an important part of Davids life and he attributes his Little Nanna "Alma" who grew up in India and specialized in the fine art of the British Roast Dinner, for the inspiration.
Raeanna 39 something and Trinni-bug 5,
Raeanna is a full time Veterinarian and owns her own practice, All Creatures Veterinary Hospital in Perham MN. She is originally from New York Mills MN and is responsible for Prairie Oak Smokers getting its start by pointing out to David that with his growing size that he should get involved with a competitive sport...so he choose competitive BBQ. Oh well!
Raeanna is the Queen in charge of presentation and keeps David organized and focused on the task at hand. Always upbeat she is the heart of our team.
Trinni-bug is the team mascot who lets everybody know when they have hurt her feelings.
Tristan 20
Tristan is a sophmore at St. John's University. At contests, Tristan is responsible for getting the pits to temp and maintaining pit temperatures. He also has a keen taste for rubs and developed the rub that is used on our ribs. He keeps the total game plan on schedule and with his ability to consume large amounts of meat, in very short periods of time, is the expert on rib and pork tenderness at turn in. Please notice he is almost always sitting down! Watch for Tristan and friends this year in "Big Orange" vending and catering!

Oops!, another blondemoment, Ciarrin painted in the mirror!
Ciarrin is the "go to" team member when it comes to choosing turn in product. Her palate has been impeccable with a wonderful ability to discern hot and sweet, need for salt, and judges tastes. Hard work is Ciarrin's hallmark. With Tristan off to college she is indipensable to our team success.
Brynnan 10 and Caitlin 9,
Brynnan and Caitlin are responsible for entertaining Trinni-bug and Gareth and occassionally help with clean up. Thier chief duties are going to the stage with Dad when we are lucky enough to get a call. Not always reliable supporters, they actually changed teams in Princeton three years ago, joining the Fat Boyz BBQ team instead. They are the chief Prairie Oak Spies ....so beware!
Brynnan Caitlin
Brynnan keeps the troops organized and out of the way. Dad ruined her Kids Que at Minnesota in May when he dropped her perfect chicken accidently on the ground!

Too exhausted after running around maybe a little too much! No... he didn't get into those drinks! He is fast becoming "BBQ Boy". With every contest he is displaying more and more interest in the actual meat prep and smoking.
